Canvas Getting Started Workshops & Canvas Office Hours
Several times a week, the Faculty Support Instructional Technologists offer Canvas workshops and open-door Office Hours so faculty, students, and staff can drop in to explore their questions, comments, concerns about Canvas, clickers and other pedagogical technologies. See the schedule here. For departmental Canvas workshops or one-on-one consultations at other times/dates, please email your requests to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Discussing Online Learning and Collaborative Education (DOLCE)
Faculty and staff meet on the first Friday of every month at 12pm in 1310 Surge III/The Grove to discuss online learning and collaborative education. At least one faculty member presents on an innovative teaching method, and Academic Technology Services staff answer questions, including those about UC Davis Canvas. If you miss a meeting, you’ll find the video recordings of each meeting on The Wheel. DOLCE is hosted by Dr. Andy Jones, the Academic Associate Director of Academic Technology Services.
These informal discussions about teaching with technology are focused on a specific tool or teaching strategy (e.g., mobile learning, electronic textbooks, teaching with video) and are led by a few faculty members who have particular experience with the topic.
We meet at 12pm in 1310 Surge III/The Grove on the third Friday of each month during the quarter. The Faculty Panels are hosted by Dr. Andy Jones, the Academic Associate Director of Academic Technology Services.
