Canvas Getting Started Workshops & Canvas/SmartSite Office Hours
Several times a week, the Faculty Support Instructional Technologists offer Canvas: Getting Started workshops and open-door Office Hours so faculty, students, and staff can drop in to explore their questions, comments, concerns about Canvas, SmartSite, clickers and other pedagogical technologies. See the schedule here. For departmental Canvas workshops or one-on-one consultations at other times/dates, please email your requests to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Discussing Online Learning and Collaborative Education (DOLCE)
This group of faculty and staff meet on the first Friday of every month at 12pm in 1310 Surge III to discuss online learning and collaborative education. At least one faculty member presents on an innovative teaching method, and Academic Technology Services staff answer questions, including those about Canvas & SmartSite. If you miss a meeting, you’ll find the minutes and video recordings of each meeting here.
These informal discussions about teaching with technology are focused on a specific tool or teaching strategy (e.g., YouTube, electronic textbooks, MOOCs) and are led by a few faculty members who have particular experience with the topic.
We meet at 12pm in 1310 Surge III on the third Friday of each month during the quarter. In 2016, the Faculty Panels will focus on Learning Management System innovations.
